Bellotti, que serviu como procurador-geral em Massachusetts por mais de uma d\u00e9cada e concorreu tr\u00eas vezes ao governo, morreu na manh\u00e3 de ter\u00e7a-feira aos 101 anos. <\/p>\n<p>Seu falecimento foi anunciado em comunicado por sua fam\u00edlia, <em>O Globo de Boston<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2024\/12\/17\/metro\/frank-bellotti-dies-massachusetts-attorney-general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relatado<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSempre seremos gratos ao meu pai por seu amor e apoio infinito\u201d, disse o filho de Bellotti e ex-promotor p\u00fablico assistente, Peter Bellotti, em um comunicado. \u201cEle sempre esteve ao nosso lado como uma luz orientadora em todos os nossos empreendimentos. Aprendi com ele o poder da lei e a responsabilidade especial de servir como oficial do tribunal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ao longo de sua carreira, Bellotti foi um defensor dos direitos civis, da prote\u00e7\u00e3o ao consumidor, dos direitos dos homossexuais e das salvaguardas ambientais, de acordo com o<em> Globo<\/em>. Ele concorreu a governador, sem sucesso, em 1964, 1970 e 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Sua primeira incurs\u00e3o na campanha ocorreu em 1958, quando concorreu sem sucesso para promotor p\u00fablico de Norfolk. Quatro anos depois, foi eleito vice-governador, servindo ao lado do governador Endicott Peabody. <\/p>\n<p>O Democrata <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naag.org\/attorneys-general\/past-attorneys-general\/massachusetts-former-attorneys-general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">servido<\/a> como procurador-geral do estado de 1975 a 1987 e \u00e9 creditado por criar um modelo para o cargo de procuradores-gerais em todo o pa\u00eds, o<em> Globo<\/em> relatado.<\/p>\n<p>Nascido em Roxbury, Bellotti cresceu em Dorchester e acabou se estabelecendo em Quincy, segundo o jornal.
