Os oponentes da nova lei dizem que <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local-news\/2024\/08\/21\/opponents-of-new-gun-law-look-to-overturn-it-through-2026-ballot-question\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">est\u00e3o procurando desafiar<\/a> os mandatos com uma quest\u00e3o eleitoral perante os eleitores em 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Mesmo com as mudan\u00e7as feitas em 2024, o Gifford Center indicou no seu scorecard para Massachusetts que ainda pode ser feito mais para melhorar a seguran\u00e7a das armas no estado, nomeadamente aprovando legisla\u00e7\u00e3o de responsabiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da ind\u00fastria de armas, limitando as vendas a granel de armas de fogo, restri\u00e7\u00f5es de idade m\u00ednima, e proibi\u00e7\u00e3o de armas em bares. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEm 2022, Massachusetts teve a segunda menor taxa de mortalidade por armas de fogo entre os estados\u201d, disse a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o <a href=\"https:\/\/giffords.org\/lawcenter\/gun-laws\/states\/massachusetts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">escreveu<\/a>. \u201cEm m\u00e9dia, 257 pessoas morrem por ano devido \u00e0 viol\u00eancia armada no estado.
