Os advogados de Read tamb\u00e9m questionaram o desleixo do trabalho policial: a cena do crime foi deixada desprotegida por horas; a casa, de propriedade do detetive da pol\u00edcia de Boston Brian Albert, n\u00e3o foi revistada; neve manchada de sangue foi recolhida com copos de pl\u00e1stico vermelho; e um soprador de folhas foi usado para limpar a neve.<\/p>\n<p>Proctor foi pago at\u00e9 o in\u00edcio deste m\u00eas, quando um conselho de audi\u00eancia da pol\u00edcia estadual mudou essa suspens\u00e3o para sem pagamento, com efeito imediato. Enquanto isso, uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o de assuntos internos pode resultar em acusa\u00e7\u00f5es contra ele, e h\u00e1 uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o federal sobre o tratamento do caso pela pol\u00edcia estadual. O gabinete do procurador dos EUA disse que n\u00e3o confirmou nem negou as investiga\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<p>Read \u00e9 acusada de atropelar John O&#39;Keefe com seu SUV e deix\u00e1-lo para morrer em uma tempestade de neve em janeiro de 2022.
