Ele era suspeito de 23 casos de furto em v\u00e1rios alvos, incluindo 11 em um em Millbury, de acordo com reportagem de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2024\/12\/23\/metro\/state-trooper-golf-balls-shoplifting-target-worcester-millbury\/\"><em>O Globo de Boston<\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Kent se envolveu no que \u00e9 conhecido como \u201cpular digitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, quando um cliente intencionalmente n\u00e3o digitaliza determinados itens durante o check-out em um self-checkout, o que supostamente foi capturado por c\u00e2meras de seguran\u00e7a. O sargento de pol\u00edcia de Millbury, Chris Polselli, respondeu \u00e0 liga\u00e7\u00e3o e, logo depois, Kent foi suspenso. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Pol\u00edcia Estadual de Massachusetts n\u00e3o tolera roubo ou desonestidade e responsabilizamos nossos membros pelos mais altos padr\u00f5es profissionais\u201d, disse um porta-voz da Pol\u00edcia Estadual em comunicado compartilhado com Boston.com. \u201cQuando essas alega\u00e7\u00f5es preocupantes chegaram ao nosso conhecimento, o Departamento imediatamente dispensou o policial acusado de suas fun\u00e7\u00f5es, abriu uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o de corregedoria e suspendeu-o sem remunera\u00e7\u00e3o ap\u00f3s sua audi\u00eancia sobre o status de dever.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o<em> Globo<\/em>Kent supostamente roubou US$ 847 em mercadorias da loja Millbury e mais de US$ 200 em bolas de golfe em um Worcester Target em tr\u00eas ocasi\u00f5es distintas. <\/p>\n<p>Kent est\u00e1 programado para ser acusado em 13 de fevereiro no Tribunal Distrital de Worcester por acusa\u00e7\u00f5es de furto em lojas e furto, de acordo com o <em>Telegrama e Gazeta<\/em>. Ele n\u00e3o est\u00e1 atualmente sob cust\u00f3dia.
